The Colorado Cooperative Ditch: San Miguel River to Nucla. This 15-mile long irrigation ditch was built between 1894 - 1904 to bring water from the San Miguel River to Tabeguache Park, the site of present-day Nucla, Colorado. In order to channel water from the San Miguel river to the plateau, a flume was constructed to raise the water some 300 feet above the canyon. The flumes and trestles were constructed from locally procured lumber.
